Ntondo Sesona Zondani is of the Teto High school in Welkom. During his matric year, he had Xhosa (home language), English (first additional language), Life Orientation, Life Sciences, Accounting, Physical Sciences and Mathematics as subjects attaining six distinctions.
With distinctions in Sotho, English (first additional language), Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Geography, Life sciences, and Life Orientation, Nyakallo Hlakoane of the Teto High School in Welkom is ready to brave whatever life after secondary schooling has to offer him.
The Free State maintained its reputation for academic excellence in the 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations, securing the second-highest pass rate in South Africa at 89.33%
The provincial government honored the Top 100 Achievers at the annual "Matric Well-Done Function" held on January 16, 2026, at the Central University of Technology (CUT) in Bloemfontein.
Teto Secondary School (Welkom) Perfomance, a Quintile 3 school in Thabong, continues to ba a focal point for academic achievement in the Welkom area.
Local recognition : The top learners at Teto are usually celebrated for excelling in "Gateway Subjects" (Maths and Science) due to the school's Dinaledi status.

Teto has a long-standing reputation for academic resilience.
Historical Perfomance : In the late 2000s, it was formally recognized by the National Department of Education for "sustained improvement" in Grade 12 results over consecutive years.
Curriculum : As a public school, it follows the CAPS curriculum, leading to the National Senior Certificate (NSC) in Grade 12.
Community Role : Being a Quintile 3 school, Teto serves many students from lower-income backgrounds, meaning it does not charge school fees and recieves higher state subsidies to ensure children in the Thabong area have access to quality education. It remains one of the most prominent secondary institutions in the Matjhabeng Local Municipality.
